An Open Letter

Dear Mr (Powerful Man) in (Some Country)   You don't know me. You may never have the honor of meeting me and greeting me to your beautiful country. That is ok. There are millions of your own people that you will never have a chance to meet, yet alone some lowly American. But, I wanted to write you a public and open and honest letter. Why? Because I care for this great country.

I came here three years ago. I did not know your culture, your language. I was scared and I was interested in learn about Turkey. I came to visit and ended up staying here and living with the family that I am now going to be marrying into.

I have really truly learned so much since being here.
I have observed a lot here too.

I want to talk to you about my observations and my concerns for this great nation.

My first concern and observation upon coming to Turkey that concerns me is this.
People here don't wear seat belt, strap their children in the car seats, which is a huge concern to my but, what is more worrisome is that there aren't any laws that I know of that enforce those laws or even use those laws. I understand you can't control everyone all the time, but I have seen some of the craziest drivers come right from here and they are not only crazy drivers, (and I don't meant that as a compliment in the slightest degree) but, they are aggressive, rude and not at all polite. (I have been safer in Los Angeles, California traffic and people complain about them! They have never been to Turkey)
People driving down the street will  have their little children crawling and climbing all over them, and the car like it is a playground for them. I have seen this on more than just a couple hundred times. In fact, I have only seen one family since I have been here for three years, strap their infant in the car seat, and when they did, it was in wrong! So, they had a little infant, I mean little, strapped into the car with a car seat, but, the infant was facing the driver. So, in an accident, the infant not properlly strapped in the car seat  or in the car, can get hurt, too. I have seen children jumping all over the back seat of hte car, moms sitting in the front passenger seat w ith their babies on their laps. Do these mothers know that those babies will surely die if there were an accident? And why isn't the fine country of Turkey informing these people in Public Service Announcements? There are a few slogans I can think of on top of my head that have worked really well, and The fines could be 1,000 TL. Hey, if they don't want a dead baby, hit them where it hurts, they need to buckle those babies up!!!

The next issue that is a huge concern for me is the fact that you Turkish people have a horrible double standard in the Beaches here in Turkey. P. M. , I don't want to sound disrespectful, but, it is vulgar, and lewd to allow and even condne the tourists to come to your country and be your guests and take off their clothes. It is really preverted. I have not ever seen in my life such vulgarity and it is this way that makes it a double standard for us "Yabancilar" who come here and are good modest dressed women, and marry Turks. I would never ever ever show my body ini public like that because it is a disgrace to humanity. It really ought to be against the law. In fact, it is in USA and even in LAs Vegas, where everyone thinks is a big play ground, when really, being naked in public is perverted. I think you would be able to "clean up" the Beaches by posting signs on all Turkish beaches stating that it is against the law for ALL people to not have a bathing suit on. You know in Miami it is against the law to be naked in their beaches? I find it very offensive and I know I am not alone with this issue. I want to go to the beach without seeing naked people. Muslims are not supposed to be naked in Public and yet, you allow Nudity on the beaches in Turkey. Who wants to see naked ness on the beaches? Perverts? I propose this
Upon people coming to Turkey, post signs stating there is a new law, called a Condemnation of Lewdness law.
Anyone who takes off their clothes in public will be fined 150 TL for a warning, 450 TL for the second offense and, if it is not paid to a Police Magistrate before leaving Turkey, They will be subjected to more fines and possible jail time, plus banned from coming into Turkey for being Lewd. For Turkish Citizens that do not comply with this Lewdness law and are fined, if the fines accumulate up to 1,000 TL They will be banned from beaches, jail time and will have to pay 1,500 TL and you can take it out of their pay checks every month until it is paid off.
This law should be taken seriously. Many people who come from outside Turkey to enjoy your beautiful sites and beautiful beaches, the women who come are not seen as respectable women, because people have this mentality that "Foreingers come to Turkey to have sex, take off their clothes on the beaches and go home", and it is not the right way to think of other people, but that is "how it is here". I feel there are every women who come to the beaches think it is ok to derobe. I am here to say, it is NOT ok. I dont want to go to a beach, and see a bunch of people naked, and I don't take off my clothes on beaches or any public place. It is lewd and gives a bad message to The Turkish men here that it is OK to Rape the Foreginer Women. And, of course it is not ever ok, but, the mentality is really different with the Cultures in Europe and Turkey. For this and to protect Womena nd Children, you must have a Condemnation For Lewdness Law. I would really beseech you to do this. It would really make Turkey's beaches safer, prettier and more Family Oriented. (And you want Family Oriented)

Along with making the Beaches prettier, I have another problem. See, people here in Trakya and every beach I have been to here in Turkey, think it is ok to trash up the beaches. In fact, not just the beaches. I have driven down your highways where people will (I am not exggerating) roll down their window, throw out trash, even I have seen dirty diapers thrown out onto the highway! (I know disgusting!) And I am here to ask you to please start a "Keep Turkey Beautiful" Campaign. This will include the Lewd Condemntaion Law, Anti Sounds (people honking their horns at cute little grandmas who in Çorlu have no where to walk but in the road and idiots drive by, honk their horns at them!! ) and Littering in Turkey. I propose this. That those people who are in jail for non- dangerous crimes, petty crimes, will do community service of cleaning up litter. Also, those who litter will have to pay a fine of 500TL, but will go up after each fine, and if they don't pay this fine they can have their license revoked until they pay (BTW the Seat Buckle Law Should be named Buckle Up Turkey and ANY parents not preperly restaining their infant, toddler, child in the car with the proper seat bealt and seats are subjected to fines and their license taken away)

Those laws if they are not in Turkey, should be.

The elephant in the room I want to address, is the cray cray law you have of THY Women not allowed to wear red or pink lipstick? REALLY??? What if you hired a black woman at THY? She can't be expected to wear anyother color lipstick BUT RED because ANY other color will look hideous. PM, When did you start wearing make up to know what an asinine  law this is?  So, you have the utterly ridiculous Night Time Soap Opera, that for some reason you have taken very seriously and found it your mission to make Sultan Suleyman look like an angel when he WASN'T and then you have the women in the Soap Opera look like htey are gray in their faces because you will not allow them to wear make up (Which is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen) then you went to THY and toldl them they cant wear red lipstick or pink lipstick. But, yet, you have Esra Erol (another stupid TV Show) who wears hideous clothes and from time to time her make up looks bad, you have the morning show woman that helps find Lost and dead family members Mujgan (??) and she wears not only really bad make up but who does her ward robe? Her clothes are ugly! (The same person that finds Ezra Erol's clothes perhaps?) Then you have another Man-Turned Woman- who wears about the worst make up ever, and you pick on the THY women? Why? Why could you just say No make up or hair styles and colors that distracts and looks unprofessional, including Tattoos??? which by the way, many girls here in Turkey have a skin tone that when wearing Pastel colors as make up makes them look really bad. Why don't you ban Clown Make up instead? Why don't you tell the Man Woman to stop hurting my eyes and tell him to wear decent normal dresses, and wear nice make up that doesn't make him look so much like a clown? Why are you picking on the THY Women? Why are you double standard like that?

While I am asking, "Why?" here is a riddle for you. You don't like someone, so you throw them in jail. Because you have the power to do so. Are you a bully or a real elected Government Leader who really cares about your country? When are you releasing the people from jail who have done nothing wrong, like say, the journalists? Then release the Military? Why are you a bully and why are you starting to become an oppressive leader that does not look at your Human Rights? When are you going to better your country?

I am closing but this will not be my last open letter to you

Sincerely
