The Elders Scrolls V Skyrim

It was 11-11-11 that gaming was forever changed by a game called, "The Elders Scrolls V: Skyrim". The game is a an OWRPG (Open World Role Playing Game). This is also the most "open world" I have yet come to know and love. Many might ask, "What's Open World ? What is a Role Playing Game?"  A Role Playing Game is a Game that a person playing will take on the character. In a sense the game's character (you) becomes First Person. Open World means that a person can basically go anywhere in the game and do anything that you want, without getting points taken away. In fact, it is encouraged to "roam" anywhere in Skyrim. Normally, in Games, if you do things that aren't on the mission, you will not get killed or it won't count against you, like in some other games. I have played a game, that, if you don't go exactly where the instructions say, you die. I think this is a boring way to play a game, because, when you want to look around with out doing anything in the "Mission" are you told to do, you can't. Also, you can't talk to other people, like you can in in this open world game.
Skyrim is the country in which this city takes place. This is the Fifth installment of the Elders Scrolls. The others older, however, they are all classics, and the graphics for each is ahead of their times.

Skyrim comes in PC, XBox, PS3 and PS4 versions. I prefer to play on the Playstation, And I have yet to get me a PS4, but I will. I have friends who have played on the XBox, and it is too jumpy for them. Playing on the PC is great, in fact the

The Valley of Fire

Outside the small city of Overton, Nevada, and just about 50 miles Northeast of Las Vegas there lies a beautiful little gem of a state park. It is called The Valley of Fire. It is 45,000 acres of pure Desert Beauty! The easiest way to get there from Vegas is by car, and this park you pay by the vehicle. If you are a Nevada State Resident, you will pay 8.00 a vehicle. If you are an out of state resident, you will pay ten. If you are in a large group, Reservations are 25$ per reservations, plus per vehicle rate. Camping is allowed, only in designated areas, and by sunset, you are supposed to be in your camp sites, and not roaming parts of the park, or it is considered trespassing.
I paid 8$ and it was worth every penny.
I entered from the West Entrance, and from there, stopped at the Beehives, which looks like Beehives. I couldn't stay long, because I was wanting to get to the petroglyphs. So, I got out of my car, snapped a couple photos, and then stopped by the Petrified Logs to get another photo of one. I then hopped into my car, went by the Visitors Center, and drove a little bit up the road from there to "Mouse Tank". Although there seemed to be many cars upon arrival, I didn't feel over crowded with people when I got there. I really loved that, actually. I was at Mouse Tank for 4 hours, and I feel like I still didn't see everything. I am sure I didn't see all the petroglyphs, and this is why I want to go back. Next time, I will bring the Long Rock with me. He will love it there.
The petroglyphs is believed to have been there for over 2,000 years. Archeologists have speculated the meanings of the petroglyphs. The petroglyphs are believed to be Pueblo (Anasazi) to Pre-Pueblo. It is said that the petroglyphs are stories or maps, and even speculated that this region of people were probably on an altered state of mind while making the drawings, because the glyphs appear to have more of a shayman quality. The other difficulty in interpreting the glyphs in this region is the reason being that Paiutes of the area don't really know what they mean, either, and the Anasazi have remained a mystery.
Mouse Tank, also known as Petroglyph Canyon, is where you can find a lot of glyphs in Valley of  Fire, and, I wanted to see this for myself.  Mouse Tank is named for a natural basin that fills up with water from the rain that is collected throughout the year. Mouse Tank is a half mile trail, both ways, from the parking area. Mouse Tank is also named after a renegade Native American who was a Southern Paiute. He used the Valley of Fire as a hideout in the 1890's after he was accused of killing two prospectors and some other crimes he committed in the region. (His name was actually Little Mouse).
Here, in this little ravine of rock formations, are so many petroglyphs. I will be bold in saying that the petroglyphs are not confined in just Petroglyph Canyon (aka Mouse tank), but, I think they're all over Valley of Fire, and there is another place called Atlatl Rock that is quite remarkable, however, I didn't get there.
So, I saw people come and go while I was in the canyon. As I mentioned, I was there for four hours, although the canyon is 1/4 of a mile, I hiked around, went up and down and didn't stay on the path, and felt like I could have stayed there for hours more, and still have found more petroglyphs. As I looked and looked and walked more than 2.8 miles in the 1/4 mile canyon, and 14 floors of stairs, I wondered if all the people who go there actually see everything, or if they just see the main maybe three or four that are in plain sight. If you aren't paying attention, you can very easily miss them. It was amazing. In fact, I was snapping photos and didn't even realize until I got home and zoomed in, that there were parts of the walls of the canyon that had writings on them... It made me definitely want to go back and bring a really good camera with me, and hike around more. In fact, I would love to stay in the park to get as much hiking, camping time as possible. upon my return and reading more about this beautiful region. I live in quite a remarkable area, and I found there are places to see more Petroglyphs. I am marking up my map of places to go and things to do and see!
I look forward to writing more about this topic and can't wait to get some more time to go, see, do!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

My birthday was a while ago. #3 and I had been thinking about where we going to go to escape snow, rain, cold, and clouds. We debated whether or not to go to Southern California, New Orleans, or somewhere in the Bahamas, we were just looking. We decided on Cabo San Lucas. And we made a GREAT choice.
Cabo is wonderful!
It was my first time going to Cabo, and #3, as well. We flew out of our home towns, and met at a connecting flight at LAX. Every flight to and from there is full, and fills up fast. We then got a city bus at Terminal 1
We tried to get a city bus at the international terminal, however, the city bus drivers said that we couldn't get on. (They were trying to promote the taxi's for the tourists, and allowing the locals to use the city bus... jerks)
So, for $80 U.S. dollars you can take a taxi cab from the San Juan Cabo International airport to San Lucas Cabo, or take the city bus for $5 U.S. dollars.
It was the first time for us to use Airbnb. The person who hosted us on Airbnb is named Adrian. He is great. He is born and raised in Cabo, and knows the area. He speaks English fluently, which helps. That being said, the locals don't understand that American women travelling alone in Mexico need to remain vigilant at all times.
#3 and I didn't want to stay at a resort because we felt it would have taken away the experience for what we wanted.
The first night we went to a restaurant, and were in bed before 11:00 pm, and were in bed before the tourists came out for city life. We didn't want to be in the nightlife in Mexico. We arrived at our place at about 4:30, and so about 5 pm we were on our own. first step in order, introduce #3 to Cocos Frios! Absolutely the BEST ever. We then asked her to open it, and she put chili peppers and scooped out the meat of the coconut for us, and we ate it like that... Aaahhh...

Day One: We woke up earlier than most people, walked to a small place for breakfast, and we had a plate of fruit, fresh fruit, and plain yogurt, #3 had coffee. It was pretty bad tasting, but total meal, $3.00 USD. We walked to the docks by 9:30 and found a deal. The gentleman would take us on a tour around the cape, and drop us off at the beach that is accessible from the water. We saw beautiful fish, seals, Lovers Beach, the marker that divides the Pacific Ocean and the Cortez Sea, and we saw a whole bunch of other wonderful things and went to the beach that was semi secluded. We realized a water taxi is used by the locals and they are way cheaper, but we were happy where we were.
We were on Pelican Bay for 2 hours, and were sitting at a fresh shrimp taco stand drinking Hibiscus juice, and eating shrimp tacos with fresh guacamole by 2:30 (we took lots of water with us)
We went back to the hotel room by 3:30, washed off the sane and went to dinner. Back at the apartment by 7pm.

Day 2
We wanted to go to the beach, and I thought there was a great beach that the locals went to, and so we began to walk on this main street, and walking West, kept on walking. I spoke Spanish, and, again, people were trying to get us to go on the resort beaches. We didn't want to be there. Well, we walked for a while. #3 hurt her foot pretty badly a couple months ago, and so we found a rickshaw. The gentleman was willing to take us to the end of the road, another couple of miles, and we hung out at the beach. We then walked back to the apartment after a few hours on the beach, and went out to eat again.

Day 3
We went to a beach on a city bus called Chileno Beach.
We slept, soaked in the sun and I walked to these rock formations. #3 was laying in the sun, and I had HAD to call her to come to the formations where I was. We were the only people willing to go on the formations, and there were colonies of crabs, which were bright blue and purple colors. We just enjoyed the beauty of the nature around us and we sat on those rocks for quite sometime. We were on the beach for about 4 hours total, and went back to the place we were staying. Each way about 2 dollars on the city bus. It was awesome. When I say awesome I mean the literal term, as in awe. We were both in awe with the water, the beauty, the beach, and we had so much fun, and good bonding time. another Coco Frio. After opening it this time, we added more fruit to it. I chose papaya. #3 chose strawberries. Yum!

Day 4
We slept in, had a relaxing morning, took it easy. We did last minute shopping, and ate a yummy dinner. Every night we were in our place before 9 pm.

Tips:
Before you go to any country, Mexico and Canada included, always talk to your telephone wireless carrier. This will cut back on roaming charges and many fees.
If you are sick, there are clinics next to the Pharmacies, and if you pay about 50 pesos, you can get adequate care. Mind you it is not fancy, and it is like after hours, but it's there.
Haggling is OK with the street vendors selling souvenirs, not in a regular store.
A couple of restaurants have a great scam! A friendly lady will come and sit next to you, you think she is with the restaurant, and will be very nice and speaks English with you, and before you know it, you are paying $30 bucks for a day trip to a "Resort that is going to be built"
DON'T DO IT... You don't have to ever pay for a beach access, unless you want to buy a cola or a beverage on a resort and use their beach... Don't let kindness fool you in Mexico. They want something from you!!!
Go to the restaurants that are not super full, but, that have locals going to them. You will not be charged as much
Be Vigilant
Be Smart
Don't buy something you know you can buy in the USA

Happy Travels!

Agreed!

My handsome loveable, adorable, sweet, handsome (wait I said handsome, but he is so handsome I have to say it twice) guy and I agreed about two weeks ago where we want to get married. We have not said anything on Facebook because people here will then start hounding us about a date. So, I thought I would announce it on here first. We agreed on a place!!! YAYAY!!!
The place? It is called Kale Park. This means Castle Park.
This place is actually quite amazing and I really love it there.
Let me tell you about it.
Castle Park sits on top of a hill in Silivri, Turkey. This over looks the Marmara Sea, and the Castle is now ruins. The walls are one of the few reminder of a Castle being here. Built in about 700 BC, it was used as a fortress and protected the city when it was in it's glory. There are  several Columns and several artifacts remaining of this castle which will give it a very nice background to our Wedding Spot. I find it very  Fairy-Land-ish and I love it. There is a Restaurant that is there, overlooking the beautiful sea and there is a spot for caterers to have a somewhat basic kitchen in a little building about 600sq feet and I saw it open for a Wedding there a few months ago. I have always wanted to be married here, but my Man has not always been keen on the idea. Now he is and I love it!
This city is really ancient, and I love it. My guy does not care for this city because he works here all the time and is lonely and I never get to see him.

notice the bridge in the distance? It was designed by Mimar Sinan, a very famous Architect. The Bridge was built in the early 1400's.

Castle entry, yes original bricks. This is protected by the Turkish Historical Commission

One of Several Columns. Many ruins are here, too. This really is a divine place to look at the sea and I just wonder what it would be like in the days where this was in it's full Glory.

As Like much of Turkey's cities, there are many under ground tunnels and old water ways. This tunnel was once a possible way to get in and out of the castle.

Chicken on the street strutting its stuff! And the wall is just old old old

This is also part of the Castle but it is now "down the street" from the now Castle. How I have wanted to just explore in this place. There are tons of antique stone carvings in there.

Another entrance to the Castle Park.

So, this is at the bottom of the cliff looking from the Castle. I quite like the view.

I was calling the long rock
The air is healthier for my asthma and I find getting less asthma attacks here. The bottom line is we just want to be together. I don2t think that is much to ask for. It feels like a long road. We are ready for it though and have been desiring this for a long time.I will post more pictures as I find them.

I had an accident

A few days ago, I was getting over a stomach flu when I was playing the Wii with Long Rock. I was playing a "Dance With ABBA" and there is a part on the dance you put your arms way up over your head when I did, I  hit the light fixture above me and it broke a piece off the glass fixture and it came falling down.
I, of course looked up when this happened and my eyes were filled with glass particles. I mean, loads of glass.
You know, It was not a death experience but, I must say that I did see my life flash before because I immediately thought of two things... I will never see again, and that I had broken the light bulb and because it (the light bulb) is not the incandescent, because people are stupid and will not use them even though those do not give me head aches and incandescent light bulbs help people with Scoptic Sensitivity Syndrome and Dyslexia, but people keep on using the new kinds however... They are filled with Mercury!!! (Yeah!!! I was thinking of Mercury going in my eyes on top of being blind, Mercury poison in my eyes!!!) Thoughts like that were filling and swimming my head...
I kept thinking why the hell does this planet not use incandescent light bulbs!! (really) I was scared to death and thinking I am not ever going to see again and I am not going to see pretty colors, the sun, my tan lines, I mean I was thinking of all the things I will never be able to see again when, I ran into the bathroom and flushed out my eyes. I went to not being able to see to being able to gradually see and then I was able to see. My eyes feel really dry. I have been  using eye drops to give me tears to flush out my eyes, and wow. I prayed.
I asked God to please save my eye sight and to help me not freak out.
Well, I freaked out in my mind because freaking out in front of Long Rock will be horrible. Long Rock is a worry-er and I just knew if I freaked out he would freak out more. So, I had to stay calm for him. I did.
He kept saying let's go to the hospital. I thought of going but, the Hospital here in this city... ı thought, how long will it be before they can wash my eyes with water? I would have to wait and wait a lot when I can wash out myself. I also thought, They would tell me the same thing... come back in a couple of days if you do not get out all the glass.
  And another thing.
How long will I have to sit and be ignored before someone will even bother seeing me?
Well, I thought, I will wash them out really good and if they are not better then I will go. But my eyes have gotten better. If they did not or if they were slightly worse,I would have run into the hospital, but I would have gone to the eye hospital. Everything is fine. I did get one tiny glass particle in my morning eye stuff yesterday... And I just feel like my eyes are dry.
Can you believe that is all that happened? Wow!
I thanked God for that one!

Update on Friends Wedding Flowers

About three months ago I made the Wedding Bouquet for a friend. I was told before hand I would be able to use all the supplies at the Floral Shop. The Florist (a man: he owns the shop) said that they had everything... So, I trusted that they  had everything I needed.
Well, let's put it this way... When I need flowers for my wedding, I will know that  I will have to plan ahead to get some vital things that are not even heard of here.
Here are a list of basic things I needed for the Flowers

  • Flowers
  • Floral Tape
  • Wire
  • Ribbon
  • Corsage Pins for the Groom's and Best Man Boutonniere
  • Clippers
So, Before hand I bought the clippers, which were garden clippers because they did not have floral clippers. That was not a surprise. However, the fact that they had only flowers, and not all the flowers as promised, however, nothing else was on the list. I was really annoyed as they had no idea what I was even talking about. Has anyone ever done a corsage or boutonniere with NO wires, no floral tape and no pins, no starters for the corsages???
Unheard of... BUT... I had to.
It was so hard and frustrating.
I had to wrap her flowers with no tape. They tried to give me regular office tape and I smiled and said no thanks.
With that,  sadly I was not able to get pictures of my creation... But I do have a couple her family took.
 Here they are

Adventures over the last Few Days

I have been really having a nice time seeing my family this Summer.
I have been able to see many family members that I normally do not get to see and I have been running into friends in the Grocery Store. It has been really nice.
I went: After being here a week, to the 4th of July Celebrations, July 5th I went to my sisters house. She let Beka go to her Ward Young Women Camp because my sister is the Camp Director this year for her Ward. We dropped off Beka and picked up Darci's son, Golden. Golden is only 10 but is such a wonderful little boy!
We (my mom, dad, Golden, Connor and myself) headed up to Star Valley Wyoming to spend a few days.
The first night we arrived there it was nice. We got there in the early evening
One thing I found? I am car sick going up the canyon. (Weird! Never was before)
The Next day we went hiking and found that intermittent springs is not intermittent. It is really swelled and just gushing.
We then Went 4 Wheeling and had so much fun. The next day was spent being lazy and shooting the breeze around the cabin because It rained most the day, however, we went 4 wheeling on the last day, Friday. We went into Grover Canyon and we ended up going to the mouth of Jensen Canyon, and went shooting and had a picnic.
It was great seeing my ancestors land and my childhood memories spending the summer at the cabin was just wonderful.
Jensen Canyon is not accessible to 4 wheelers and Vehicles because of the road conditions. The only practical way is by foot or  horse back.
Golden was in too interested in shooting the .22 Caliber Manuel Revolver , however he was excited to find the bones of  a dead animal. We could not find the skull but we found the lower jaw and many teeth, and lost of bones. He was just thrilled to find them.
He was sad however to learn he could not keep them in the house. He was supposed to bring them in the Garage and leave them there.
Connor and I went on a ride on our own. We went to Salt River and watched how swelled it was.
I let Connor ride there too. We rode all over the place but I must say I was holding onto him for dear life and yelling: Mind the Post, Mind the sign, Mind the... (Whatever was 3 blocks ahead of us) Finally he patiently said "I can see them!" I just can not believe he will get his permit in two months.
We then returned to Utah on the Saturday, the 10th.
We went to Ogden, Utah. I stayed there with a friend, her and  I have been friends for the last 17 years. She is really having some stress in her life and have some life decisions to make and I hope I have helped her make them.
I then have only a couple days with Shahira and so I am going to go to the Lake tomorrow. We will go to Jordanelle.
More pics and blogs are on the way!

Day 3 in Utah

Yesterday I woke up later. When I woke, I realized that I was in Utah!
That thrilled me. I woke up at about 1:45 in the afternoon. My mom and I went to the Distribution Center for the LDS Church while my dad slept. We came home my dad needed to go to Provo to visit my brother before he heads out to Temple Texas.
My mom made the best salad, and taught me this amazing recipe for a salad dressing that Snuggle's mom will love so much. I can not wait to try it on her.
I then settled with my mom to watch a movie. We had such a nice time.
I feel asleep and woke up a few times in the night but all in all it was a good night sleep for me.
When I woke up for the day, on day 2: I woke up realizing: I am in UTAH!!!!
I jumped out of bed and realized... wait, it is not a dream!
I ran down the hallway to tell my mom I am still here! It was so nice!!!
Breakfast was Vanilla yogurt and bananas mixed with Granola.
We went on a bike ride after talking to Snuggle and my mom just LOVES him. My mom wants to meet him face to face.
We had such a great bike ride. We rode to the Public Library. This Library is huge and amazing. The structure is almost like a half moon and the front has gardens on it. It is across the street from the City Hall, which looks like a miniature Big Ben. Most of the old and original buildings here in Utah and namely S.L.C. look very European or English influenced as the earlier settlers were mostly from Great Britain and missed their home and so they would try to make it look as close to Great Britain as possible. We had a really good sandwich in the deli there at the Library, and then we headed home. When we got home we realized that we needed to make copies of the Young Women Camp Manuel. My sister is the head of the Young Women Camp for about 80 girls in Logan and her three daughters and my youngest daughter are all going to camp in Logan Canyon this up coming week.
I made copies of the manual at the Church history Library where I found some amazing information for Snuggle to help him with finding his Family History in Turkey and Bulgaria! The Family history Library is HUGE and Amazing. I was able to copy the manual for only 7 dollars, which was a 97 page project and they were so nice to me. As I left all the workers there said goodbye to me and so many people are just soooo kind! One thing I noticed is how quiet the drivers are here in Utah. I am so sorry people think they are rude here. I am sure they are. But I heard one honk in the 2 days I have been here. ONE. Normally I hear it every three seconds. The other thing is how I have noticed how kind the workers are at the Church offices. For those of you living in Utah and are not really happy here, I feel sorry for you. You can go to many places in the world though and not find nice people. No one can say that about many of the people in Utah. Of course there are rude and good and bad all over, but I was walking the three blocks to the Church Library and about 15 people said "Hi" to me...
I came home and for dinner, mom made the best Chocolate Chip Cookies and Milk... Ever!!!
I watched a movie with mom, but fell asleep and woke up an hour ago.
I miss Snuggle but am happy to be home too. My mom said she thinks that I have my heart in two places and have a hard time choosing where it should be... with my family in Utah or Snuggle... She hit that one on the nail!
Many pictures were taken but I have to figure out the camera deal... Pictures will come...

Home Sweet Home

I have been waiting and waiting to see my family the last year and few months now.
Sometimes it feels longer then other times it feels like such a short time.
I left the Istanbul airport at 5:56 am June 28th. Istanbul time. I arrived 1:35 am June 29th Utah time.  The airport in Istanbul was fine for me. I had no problems with the customs.Packing was an ordeal for me because we were trying to pack the cheapest way possible. I had gifts for all the family and I was worried that I was not going to be able to get everything that I wanted to bring. Anyway, I ended up being able to bring the things I wanted... Just ONE more gift for my mom and I will be done, but I have to send it all
I went to Amsterdam airport from Istanbul, JFK then on to SLC Airport.
I have to say that I really like the Amsterdam airport. They have a Museum in the airport that is quite great actually.
Upon arriving there were some Officers waiting for someone that I think had some drugs on her or something because of the search dog, happily sniffing everyone's bag, and the four officers waiting for her at the end of the ramp.
Getting through security to get on to the flight to the JFK I was frisked, and must say I did not like the female officer frisking me. She was nice and not rude to me in anyway, just I hated how she frisked me. she was supposed to pat me down and that was that, she grabbed my chest and said, "Is anything in there? Wait, ARE THOSE REAL???" Instead of releasing her hands, she kept them there.... I was going to tell my younger sister, Summer about it but I was in the Church Distribution Center in Downtown SLC and thought although, it is kind of funny the people there would not think so hehe.
So it was on to the JFK. I was in there for just a couple hours, but it was great to be able to connect online and see Erkan.
  I liked that part.
Then we went on the plane to Utah. We sat on the concord for 2.5 hours and waited because a huge thunderstorm came in and grounded a lot of flights for those two hours. (Sigh... JFK)
I must say security through JFK was rather exciting.
I was traveling with so much stuff that I had to get some things in a carry on. This carry on was really heavy and I was asked to come with a Security TSA Officer. I agreed, what other choice do I have, right?
But,  I did not have anything to hide. He opened my carry on really slowly. I was thinking what the heck. "There is been an alert on our screen, That officer over there said you have a bomb" I was like what? I was not too worried... (I had a tea pot though...) He is so slow about t though I was wondering when he was going to be able to let me through.
Two minutes later, he pulls out my tea pot and in there are some scarves. He slowly had to take them out which took another minute and a half. He looked at me and said, "A tea pot?" I said, "yeah". He said "An effing Teapot?" I said "yeah" (only he used the F word) He said... You can go. and he turned to his screener person and said "It was a Fracking tea pot" (only he did not say fracking) HAHAHAHAHAHA
 That was so funny.

Sadly: There is a block on the internet for some reason I can not post pictures... Pictures will come :/
