MY Friends Wedding Pictures!
My friend here in Turkey got married last October.
Well, last August she asked me if I would make her a Wedding Bouquet, and I was completely honored.
I did do the Groom's boutonniere,The Bride's bouquet, The Sister of the bride's corsage, and the brother of the groom's boutonniere.
Recall that I had no resources that we have in the US of A to actually make corsages and boutonnieres, and yet alone the people here in Turkey hardly ever have the Groom even wear them. Actually I have never seen anyone in Turkey wear corsages nor boutonnieres. Flowers are not a big part of the Wedding here like it is in the USA. Here is the blog about the wedding pictures So, with that said, She and her now husband before getting married went to the studio for their Wedding pictures and took them with the flowers I made. They look just really amazing. Yes, I will do your wedding flowers, too... Just fly me to wherever you are, and give me the supplies, buy your flowers, and I will be more than happy to arrange all the flowers!!! :) No Wedding is complete with out a Bridal Bouquet!
Here are the flowers I did for them. I cropped the photos because I wanted you to just see the flowers. The pictures are not mine.

Because the lack of boutonniere pins here, I told the bride to use the boutonniere like this instead of the traditional way, therefore hiding the normal pins and lack of a nice one. |

Agreed!
My handsome loveable, adorable, sweet, handsome (wait I said handsome, but he is so handsome I have to say it twice) guy and I agreed about two weeks ago where we want to get married. We have not said anything on Facebook because people here will then start hounding us about a date. So, I thought I would announce it on here first. We agreed on a place!!! YAYAY!!!
The place? It is called Kale Park. This means Castle Park.
This place is actually quite amazing and I really love it there.
Let me tell you about it.
Castle Park sits on top of a hill in Silivri, Turkey. This over looks the Marmara Sea, and the Castle is now ruins. The walls are one of the few reminder of a Castle being here. Built in about 700 BC, it was used as a fortress and protected the city when it was in it's glory. There are several Columns and several artifacts remaining of this castle which will give it a very nice background to our Wedding Spot. I find it very Fairy-Land-ish and I love it. There is a Restaurant that is there, overlooking the beautiful sea and there is a spot for caterers to have a somewhat basic kitchen in a little building about 600sq feet and I saw it open for a Wedding there a few months ago. I have always wanted to be married here, but my Man has not always been keen on the idea. Now he is and I love it!
This city is really ancient, and I love it. My guy does not care for this city because he works here all the time and is lonely and I never get to see him.

notice the bridge in the distance? It was designed by Mimar Sinan, a very famous Architect. The Bridge was built in the early 1400's. |

Castle entry, yes original bricks. This is protected by the Turkish Historical Commission |

One of Several Columns. Many ruins are here, too. This really is a divine place to look at the sea and I just wonder what it would be like in the days where this was in it's full Glory. |

As Like much of Turkey's cities, there are many under ground tunnels and old water ways. This tunnel was once a possible way to get in and out of the castle. |

Chicken on the street strutting its stuff! And the wall is just old old old |

This is also part of the Castle but it is now "down the street" from the now Castle. How I have wanted to just explore in this place. There are tons of antique stone carvings in there. |

So, this is at the bottom of the cliff looking from the Castle. I quite like the view. |

I was calling the long rock |
The air is healthier for my asthma and I find getting less asthma attacks here. The bottom line is we just want to be together. I don2t think that is much to ask for. It feels like a long road. We are ready for it though and have been desiring this for a long time.I will post more pictures as I find them.

I had an accident
A few days ago, I was getting over a stomach flu when I was playing the Wii with Long Rock. I was playing a "Dance With ABBA" and there is a part on the dance you put your arms way up over your head when I did, I hit the light fixture above me and it broke a piece off the glass fixture and it came falling down.
I, of course looked up when this happened and my eyes were filled with glass particles. I mean, loads of glass.
You know, It was not a death experience but, I must say that I did see my life flash before because I immediately thought of two things... I will never see again, and that I had broken the light bulb and because it (the light bulb) is not the incandescent, because people are stupid and will not use them even though those do not give me head aches and incandescent light bulbs help people with Scoptic Sensitivity Syndrome and Dyslexia, but people keep on using the new kinds however... They are filled with Mercury!!! (Yeah!!! I was thinking of Mercury going in my eyes on top of being blind, Mercury poison in my eyes!!!) Thoughts like that were filling and swimming my head...
I kept thinking why the hell does this planet not use incandescent light bulbs!! (really) I was scared to death and thinking I am not ever going to see again and I am not going to see pretty colors, the sun, my tan lines, I mean I was thinking of all the things I will never be able to see again when, I ran into the bathroom and flushed out my eyes. I went to not being able to see to being able to gradually see and then I was able to see. My eyes feel really dry. I have been using eye drops to give me tears to flush out my eyes, and wow. I prayed.
I asked God to please save my eye sight and to help me not freak out.
Well, I freaked out in my mind because freaking out in front of Long Rock will be horrible. Long Rock is a worry-er and I just knew if I freaked out he would freak out more. So, I had to stay calm for him. I did.
He kept saying let's go to the hospital. I thought of going but, the Hospital here in this city... ı thought, how long will it be before they can wash my eyes with water? I would have to wait and wait a lot when I can wash out myself. I also thought, They would tell me the same thing... come back in a couple of days if you do not get out all the glass.
And another thing.
How long will I have to sit and be ignored before someone will even bother seeing me?
Well, I thought, I will wash them out really good and if they are not better then I will go. But my eyes have gotten better. If they did not or if they were slightly worse,I would have run into the hospital, but I would have gone to the eye hospital. Everything is fine. I did get one tiny glass particle in my morning eye stuff yesterday... And I just feel like my eyes are dry.
Can you believe that is all that happened? Wow!
I thanked God for that one!

Update on Friends Wedding Flowers
About three months ago I made the Wedding Bouquet for a friend. I was told before hand I would be able to use all the supplies at the Floral Shop. The Florist (a man: he owns the shop) said that they had everything... So, I trusted that they had everything I needed.
Well, let's put it this way... When I need flowers for my wedding, I will know that I will have to plan ahead to get some vital things that are not even heard of here.
Here are a list of basic things I needed for the Flowers
- Flowers
- Floral Tape
- Wire
- Ribbon
- Corsage Pins for the Groom's and Best Man Boutonniere
- Clippers
So, Before hand I bought the clippers, which were garden clippers because they did not have floral clippers. That was not a surprise. However, the fact that they had only flowers, and not all the flowers as promised, however, nothing else was on the list. I was really annoyed as they had no idea what I was even talking about. Has anyone ever done a corsage or boutonniere with NO wires, no floral tape and no pins, no starters for the corsages???
Unheard of... BUT... I had to.
It was so hard and frustrating.
I had to wrap her flowers with no tape. They tried to give me regular office tape and I smiled and said no thanks.
With that, sadly I was not able to get pictures of my creation... But I do have a couple her family took.
Here they are

I think I will post some pictures, now of Utah and my Summer.
I haven't talked about Utah lately. But, I will say that everyone has to own their 'hood. I love Utah.
There are somethings sometimes I dislike, but in the most part, I really like Utah. It is a great place to raise a family, and I love that you can experience all the four seasons.
I also miss Utah during Christmas time.
So, here are some pictures of Utah.
Paris, Utah. This is an old chapel. I thought it was pretty |
Logan, Utah Temple. sits on a Hill Logan is so pretty. Just Cold in the winter |
Hiking in Ogden. We wanted to hike further, but the girls were not happy at all |
I could have hiked all day with Cheryl. I have so much fun with her |
Wild flowers bloomed a little later this Summer. |
Cheryl's back yard |

The Tabernacle and Church on Temple Square. |
Assembly Hall where the Mormon Tabernacle used to sing. Concerts are still held here |
Train going to North Ogden then on to Eden, Utah where my childhood friend lives. |
hehe, Connor looks like a Lemur here |
This is near the border of Utah and Wyoming at Bear Lake... sigh. I love it up there |
Enjoying the Flowers on Temple Square near the JSMB |
What Salt Lake Downtown looks like on a Sunday. Empty. I love that! |
This is right in front of the Utah Symphony. The Building is really pretty. Across the street from the Temple Square. Everything in Salt Lake City is centrally located. |
This structure inside the Utah Symphony captured my attention. |
Provo, Utah Fourth of July Parades are Huge!!! This was a really cool part of the Parade |
I am a fan of Star Wars! |
I love horses too |
There is a Llama Festival every year in Utah! I love going to it! |

In Eden, visiting my childhood friend, Heather and her kids. |
Sisters!!! |
My mom and I went hiking. |
We were going up Little Cottonwood Canyon. |
I would say that this view is just as pretty as any of the Alps! |
We hiked about 3-4 miles. It was pretty cold, but mom and I had fun! |
360 surrounded by HUGE rocky Mountains. In the Wasatch Region! Really Heavenly |
Mom and I |
We wanted to get pictures of the flowers. My mom took tons of pictures of flower and I forgot to copy her pictures to the laptop. (tear!) |
Here are some flowers |
My mom walking ahead. The path way is far prettier than in pictures. Winding around with so much foliage |
Mom took this of me. I thought the rocks are so pretty |
Mom and I went on a bike ride. My mom and I had so much fun that day. My mom is great. I miss her a lot. This was the top of the SLC Public Library. |
This is an old building in SLC that happened to have a really cool statue on it. |
We went into an Antique shop that sold really fine pieces. This place was just... WOW! And my mom and I loved looking in it |
Cathedral of the Madeline 300 east and North Temple in Down Town SLC. |
I hate this picture of me but I love the picture of my brother. We went to The Mayan with my mom and dad. We had a lot of fun. I love spending time with my family |
The Mayan is awesome. It has all these really cool things inside. It is supposed to make you feel like you are in a Mayan place, but it has Mexican Food not really Mayan food. There are divers too. |
And Random things like this display that looks like you are in Pier One Imports |
While you are eating or waiting for your food you can see a live show. |
These acrobats eventually jump in the water. |
And the head hunter will let you take pictures of him with various family members |
See? Cafe Rio Type food. Oooh I thought it was really good food. |
They took old real paintings of Temples that are actually in Honduras and surrounding areas and replicated them in sone of the decorum here.. |
And then again, they designed their own to give you that Mayan feeling |
Kendal and I being serious about trying to get a good shot of us in the Mayan. |
I finally was able to snap this one. The color of the camera that it made was difficult to get a really good pic. |
These were all over the restaurant |
This was out side the restaurant. The restaurant looked like one big Mayan Pyramid |
Side trip to Wyoming with Mom, dad, Golden and Connor! |
Meeting Connor and Beka at the Airport... sigh.. I miss them |
And mom and Connor at the parade. |
