Bus News III

It has been about six months ago that I wrote about the Bus News here in Çorlu.

 I would like to do a refresher, with pictures, thanks to internet browsing and so for the photographers that worked hard in taking pictures, thanks for posting them. 

Anyway... 

 A few months back, things got really crazy because over the last you know... 20+ years, the Blue MiniBus has been the mainstay for transportation and have been driving people every day, 7 days a week from 6 am until Midnight. (Us Americans say 12am but everywhere in the world that uses Military time: 24:00)

Well, Mr M s no stranger to this life style as it has been the staple income for my fiance's family these past 15 something years. 

 The Blue Mini Bus were older than the ones that have been operating since last year. As I said earlier in the first post titled "Bus News I"  the Mavi Mini Bus here is easier to access, because you do not have to buy a ticket, it has been around for years, it functions efficiently, there were about 70 of them going all over Corlu and to Trakya Kolej, It gave jobs to some 100 people, which was a huge help to all those families. They were professional and they drove in heat, rain, sun, snow, and I thoroughly enjoyed using the Mavi MinBus system. 

 Well, over the last few weeks there have been rumors that the Governor of Tekirdağ, the Mayor of Çorlu, the Manager of the Çorlu Bus system have been rubbing elbows and talking about finding ways to close down the  Mavi MiniBus. I have stated in the past, there have been a lot of hokum tickets given to Mavi MiniBus Drivers, for no reason... Just for driving a Mavi MiniBus. Outrageous? Wait... It gets better. 

I have said all along how I just could not put my finger on why the men and one woman on city Counsel would want to rid themselves and the fine city of Çorlu of their finest drivers. Also, I thought, "Ok... They will rid themselves of the Mavi MiniBus, maybe they would be decent people and hire those Mavi MiniBus drivers, you know, not make them jobless." Well... Did you know that Long Rocks dad "Could not work for the MiniBus Çorlu City..." Why? "Because he is too old", however, the Mayor of Çorlu actually same age and even went to School together in High School... YEAH... They were High School Friends! (I think at this point some of my fellow Americans would be crying fie fie Benedict, and yes, we would be desperately sooo wanting to shoot marshmallows with our marshmallow guns at the mayor of Çorlu City for treason to a friend. I mean... I am in shock.)

 There is some more news, and this is that over the last few days there have been meetings to try to resolve this Minibus Conflict and in a orderly and peaceful manner. Sadly, the Blue MiniBus, or the Mavi MiniBus lost this battle and today I think that there was not a dry eye in this home and not to mention all the other over 100 homes here in Çorlu that this has effected. The City Mayor of Corlu closed the Mavi MiniBus forever, and earlier than he promised. YES... Against the Government of Republic of Turkey and with out even just cause.

 There are now more families that have been thrown to the ditch in the most brutal way possible, and you know this comes in light that the City of Corlu last year said that Blue Buses could not run because they "were too old". Well, I have seen Mr Çorlu's Mayor's suits and ties and shoes. They are not only older than the MiniBus, but I mean... This man is buying all his clothes at the Pazar, where he is ALSO determined to shut down. Not only does this shock me that he wants to put people out of business, My Fellow Americans keep in mind that there is much more sinister plan he has for this city, and I am sorry he is not only a very shabby dresser, losing his hair, needs to see the dentist desperately, but he also does not know how to run this city well. There is not much of a Chamber Of Commerce here, and there is not much of a "Welcome to Çorlu we Love Families!" I mean... There is not only nothing to do here, but every other day power or water gets shut down, while he prances around the city with his arms stretched (what is that about??? Is he singing "The Sound Of Music"... Dude... Only Julie Andrews can sing it and please... That is a stupid pose.)

 My concern is this... This city is being run down, has no city plan, not professional engineering, is too old and shabby for the 550,000 people that live here, the pipes are freaking old, the Mayor keeps just getting his photo opportunities like he is Jay Z and there are no Parks here, nothing fun for the teenagers, preteens and little kids to do, there is no fun things for anyone to do, and yet, he keeps closing down businesses not creating better jobs for the people. In USA the Government works FOR the people and BY the people. In Çorlu, the Mayor struts around making stupid poses and taking jobs away and turning off our electricity and water, every other day.  I smell a conspiracy. You will see. Oh... And Mayor, those STUPID Bayram Cards you send on NON Recyclable Paper... You are a freaking dim wit. Stop doing that!!! Take the money you would use with your stupid FAKE BAYRAM Card and do something good for the city... Like plant more trees, clean up the city, charge fines for people littering, why don't Mr Mayor, do as we say... Put your money where your mouth is... Wait.. OUR Money... We pay you right???
