I have been bored so I thought I would watch Griffin and Phoenix. This movie was released in 2006. It stars Amanda Peet and Dermont Mulroney. Griffin is Dermont and Phoenix is Amanda Peet. Here is the storyline. Griffin is dying of some kind of cancer. He was once married and has two children but is since divorced. He decides to do things that he has never done before, and try to rediscover himself. He goes to a class at N.Y.U. and meets a girl. He starts taking her out and She finds a bunch of his books about death and dying and finds out that he is going to die in a year. They do all these fun things together and then they fall in love and he finds out that she is dying of a terminal disease also. She is ill and laying in a hopital bed when she tells him to leave her and that he will be better off with out him. He walks to his car and takes a sledge hammer (why he has one in his car at that moment::: Maybe I went to the bathroom or was talking on skype with Snuggle when I did not notice why) But, he smashed his car to smithereens, and then two police come pick him up and throw him in jail for destroying public property. He calls his X wife's fiancee to bail him out. Upon leaving jail he goes back into the Hospital where she, Phoenix, dies. It was really an interesting story line in theory in my opinion however, it stopped cold there with all the stereo typical- guy meets girl but has too many issues and girl meets guy but don't fall in love with me because I am going to die scenario. This was boring and over done and soooo boring and trite to me. basically, a big Prozac fest. Even message in a bottle was better with a sad ending but at least the story line was interesting. And there was just too much... Soap Opera added to it. Wait, this would have been a perfect storyline for a Soap Opera.
IMDB gave it 6.9 stars. I would give it a three, on my forehead for not liking this film. Why did I watch it to the end? I was hoping that it would get better and I had to see the end to fiish what I started... And lack of judgement on my part although I had no alcohol during the movie, I wish I did, it would have been less painful to watch.
wait: The music in it was good. Get the soundtrack!
Cheers!
